An Icom IC7000 for HF through UHF, all mode, an antenna that is commercially made, it's a vertical, it's a multi-band antenna made by Diamond, the model number is Bravo, Bravo 7 Victor, BB7V, it's about 28 feet when fully extended, which is the only way you can operate It has no radials, requires no counter-poise, some kind of a voodoo matching network built into the thing that you can't really tell what's in there, it's all sealed up, but essentially it's kind of an end-fed half-wave, sort of, in a vertical configuration. And I have added to that, right at the feed point, I put a random wire tuner made by a company called Mike Alpha Gango Matt Tuners. Matt Tuners, Chinese company. It is a random wire tuner very similar to a Icom AH-4. Essentially operationally it is the same and with an interface cable I am able to initiate a tune function from the radio with that works very well and it gets my SWR down to a nominal 50 ohm match across the feed line by putting the antenna tuner at the vertical feed point. It works very well. Anyway, it is not the biggest signal on the low bands, and it is pretty narrow banded, hence the need for the matching networking tuner, but I do make contacts as far down as 80 meters, so that's how I do it. That did not control K4HM and the group. This is Whiskey One India Q of Jim in East Point, Michigan.
