Yeah, when I worked for the city, I had a radio in our car, or truck, and I programmed for our frequency number one, the fire number two, and the police number three. They had a guy trapped in the building downtown, it was kind of interesting, listened to the police talking to himself. But the 800 mayors, I think they switched around so you could only hear one side of the conversation. But the state police, I think, have the old radios, and when I go on a trip in the car, I tell this to them. So it seems kind of interesting. Anyway, check out that banana ball. KV7, BBW, back to them. The reason they switched to P25, is you can still hear half the conversation on an analog radio. You just need a scanner that can do trunking, P25 trunking. And once you've got that, you'll be able to hear them again crystal clear both sides of the conversation. That's just the way P25 works, it's trunked. So as a method of not having people listen to them, that's a method they use. But the newer scanners now, they can handle the trunking, so they identify the main channel, and then from the main channel they know which channels to switch to. So you get everything that you're looking at getting. So yeah, a newer scanner would fix that right up. Around here, and this is crazy to me because St. John's is such a small town. We have only around 300 some odd thousand people in the whole town. And our police department since the 1990s, they switched to digital. Back in the 90s when digital was pretty much unheard of. And it was a really expensive system. It was something with ProVoice, EDX, EDX digital with ProVoice is what they switched to here. And until like 10 years ago, you couldn't get a scanner that could decode EDX digital with ProVoice. So recently they upgraded their radio system again, and they stayed with digital, but they switched to P25. Now that's the system that sounds like they're using in your area, plus the P25 they use here is digital and it's encrypted. So we don't have a prayer of listening to the police here. KJ5, F0X, Chad, if you're still with us, the mic is yours.
