I have a doozy of a story you won't believe. Here we go, very quick. 1990, many years ago, I worked in the elevator industry, which I have for 42 now. Back in 1990, I was doing some testing, safety testing, as in when all the elevator cables break, the elevator goes down and you stop the car on the safety. Little did I know that our commercial M8000, as I think they were called, If you transmit and go close enough to what's called the Hoist Motor Field Regulator, it overspeeds, causing it to crash either into the overhead or onto the safety. We continue to use that technique for inspections with the provincial government for testing as opposed to other methods slightly more dangerous. You just start transmitting on UHF and bring your radio closer to the Hoist Motor Field Regulator and the elevator overspeeds beautifully with a beautiful acceleration to knock it right on the safety to pass your test. Very interesting technique that we found out back in 1990.
