On Apollinares Mons, this is an extinct shield volcano, a little south of the Mars equator, is a location where there are hundreds, hundreds of these streaks seen on a large ridge. And they first appeared between 2013 and 17, and scientists eventually realized that these particular lines were caused by a meteorite impact itself. And this led some scientists to believe that these topological features features were all the result of impacts and Marsquakes. A study published in November 6th in the Journal of Nature Communications says that there may be another explanation for these.
