This is really interesting. Winnemucca, I can't even say, Winnemucca. Winnemucca, Nevada, named after Chief Winnemucca, a leader of the Northern Paiute tribe, and its history involves its founding as a stop for immigrants and the Central Pacific Railroad, Originally called French Ford, the town was renamed by the Railroad Company in 1868 and later became the seat of Humboldt County in 1873. Key historical developments include the discovery of silver, the growth of a significant Chinatown, and later the development of potato farming. Are you having any spuds for tomorrow?
