I just want to show this to everybody on the net, VA3VWX. So I do a lot of kayaking. That's another thing I've taken up. So I went out today. It's going to be one of the last of the season. And these people came to the boat launch. And I didn't realize what they were doing until I was a bit of a distance into the river from the boat launch. And I was in Mississauga in Port Credit, and the Credit River feeds into Lake Ontario. It's a big river. And I realized that they had bags with water in them. And I said, oh my god, they're releasing a fish. So I went back, and it was tilapia. They had released two tilapia into the Credit River. And I said, OK, well, at least they're dead, and the fish are clearly dead. And I don't know what they were thinking. I don't know if this was a pet fish or not, but some people do keep tilapia, I know. My wife likes to eat tilapia. Tilapia is an all right fish. But some people keep it as a pet, because it's not a tropical fish, but it's a warm water ferret. Apparently, they're easy to care for. But if you're anywhere in the world, don't put fish. If you don't know if it belongs, don't put it in there. It's illegal in most places to put fish. Unless the fish came out of a body of water, don't take a fish from somewhere and put it into another body of water. Those fish aren't native to the Great Lakes, just like carp you know they're trying to keep carp out of the Great Lakes we got zebra mussels and this is a problem everywhere in the world right frogs turtles for us fortunately up here most of the invade well maybe not most but many of the invasive species get killed because we have winter but if you don't really have a harsh winter then some of these things can survive the tilapia died because the water Celsius what water temperature was colder than 12 degrees 12 degrees killed tilapia so they were dead but if it was a warmer climate you know those things could have survived so that's just my PSA don't don't don't spread invasive species if they're your pet fish try and give them to somebody but don't let them out into the wild we had a turtle
