We have another meteor shower starting tomorrow. It's the ursids occurring primarily between December 17th and 24th. Meteor shower reaches maximum on December 22nd. Maximum hourly rate is usually between 10 and 15. Meteors belonging to this stream are typically faint. So a good time to spot this one. The moon will interfere with observing any of these. Hopefully, it will be firm enough to go out there and observe them. But if it is too chilly where you are, definitely go out there and bundle up. We do have a comet, comet 24P. SHALMOS rises around midnight, making it worthwhile to stay up late, especially on the weekend of the Geminids. Now, that was a couple of hours last weekend on Friday the 12th. It shares a low power view with NGC 3607 and 3608. They were deep sky objects, 10th and 11th magnitude, respectively. With SHELMA at 9th and 12th magnitude, you can estimate its brightness easily. Use detailed charts to make sure you're not misidentifying a background galaxy. So we passed those two deep sky objects. So they'll actually be out of the way. But if you're up there looking at deep sky objects, definitely see if you can find the comet. Or there's other objects as well. Henry Magazine, December 25, page 34. And that is it for the local astronomical news. This is KI0AR. I'm going to go ahead and acknowledge Caleb from LPV over on YouTube, so thanks for that. We got you on the list and Steve, we got you checked in tonight as well, so thanks for that over on YouTube.
