You are correct, it is pitches and I didn't know until this weekend that you can bet on which pitch is going to come next. I had no idea that sports betting got down to that level. The pitchers Emmanuel Clace and Louise Ortiz were accused of tipping off betters as to the individual pitches including their speed and whether they would be balls or strikes. Prosecutors say the betters use that information to make hundreds of thousands of dollars. The MLB, Major League Baseball, later said it would limit, but not ban, the single-pitch prop bets that enabled this scandal. You can bet on what's the next pitch. Wow. All right. Back to the top of the list, Ben, got another one for you. Only two questions left in this quiz, and then we're going on to the crossword. Ben, the United States minted its last pennies last week, ending the coin's long decline into irreverence. When was the U.S. penny first minted? Was it 1793, was it 1857, was it 1858, was it 1909, or was it 2012? Ben take it away, which one do you think it is? VE3FBX. 1857, I think. Back to you, Gray.
