Yeah, we're hoping that Trumpo is not going to be in the Oval Office for very much longer. Man, just look at the destruction. And why is it now three KKY? Well, I wish Marsha was here to explain herself. During the first era, Trump era, she said blacks are too effing broke to be Republicans. She said Ice Cube said that. Yeah, I know. I know the song Bird in the Hand, although he was talking about Bush. but anyways while she was talking about and and and she just explained that you know are there any that can still fill out a w2 w2 so I got the skinny on a couple of situations I'll need a few key ups because there's no way I'll get it all out in one breath but you know I talk fast so the all-stars there was a problem with the portal it was broken so it's been resolved some way somehow I got through to the help desk there's a really old contact that I have and the guy I knew he was going to tell me you know to go on the site and put your complaint but it has capture so I told him that no one could help me with that I said I asked around but most people ghost me when I text them so but thankfully he didn't and I guess from a few verbal exchanges we we got it done The All-Stars works for my blind shell now. So that is one thing. The next thing... Kevin would really like this news because he asks me all the time about a particular personality that I really like. So I'll give you the skinny on this really quickly and then I have some comments. So yesterday there was an open line show that they syndicate across to CBC Vancouver which I guess essentially what I was hearing was CBC Toronto. Kelly Contreras was on and I got to talk to her after the show. I called her on and off and text her on and off when she used to be on Toronto 640. She knows the text. So anyways, basically she was fired last November. What I didn't know is they still have her on a severance. I guess so because if you're fired and you're doing what you like and you're still working and have energy working, then I guess they would have to do something. I just didn't think that far ahead. I know how gun crazy the radio business is. It's one reason I never got into it. I went the ham radio direction. That's another thing too. I wish I would have asked her if she ever considered being a ham. She said that the new program director of AM 640, and since we were on the phone we could swear so I gotta kind of fix her words she just said that she just said the guy was a little bit of a you know a private part okay that rhymes with slick yes he definitely was slick because she said she kind of knew that it was coming so it wasn't the hostile takeover that I thought right like one morning you show up and new people have your office she said no it happened in a series of of meetings she said that she knew she was going to be fired. One way that she sort of prepared for it weeks before, so two or three weeks before she was fired from Toronto 640, was that she said she sensed that TOC 640 was starting to lean and go further right. And I know that because I could kind of tell from her comments that they didn't seem to check with other people on the station and I could tell she's an anti-Trumper so I could tell that a lot of them were like I'm not going near that and so she said she would have wanted to leave anyways just based on that and another thing she said was she was losing a lot of creative control the the new program director just kept criticizing and knocking down her show and then ultimately she was fired from that. So she said she knew that it was coming and then she said she spent the rest of the year starving from news. She would, you know, walk away from it as best she could. Besides that she is a big reader and she reads newspapers, so it was hard for her to do. Well, so now, it's good news for me. She said she is thinking she said she's thinking of getting in the podcasting I was hoping she would do that because her show had podcast archives although those are all gone like anything anything that toxic sporty owns because she explained that too because I said I still have you in my directory I just never deleted you I never had the hard to she said well get rid of it because I don't even have the keys to that anymore and if they don't play they're never gonna play I have no control of that so she's going to start a new podcast with her name but she says she wants to take it to another direction and that's the teaser she didn't tell me so I'll try to I'll try to give Kevin Nicole's notes if I ever hear them although I thought that that would be because it was like a two three hour conversation but I got most of this out and yeah I told Kevin she I used to tell Kevin all the time that she's like an evil twin I never thought I had. He was one of the few that noticed in 2023 I tried as best I could to drop my western New York accent because there's those of you if you talk to me off air you hear it more on the radio I go out of my way to really try it because I probably from 2023 and on that's when I was listening to her show regularly I tried to craft my voice like hers and I don't know if I got the trigger style down that's one of my favorites that she does but one thing that she did for me on the radio when I came in here in 2020 I was still relatively friends with everybody now I'm not right I pick and choose but the reason why was I really was agreeing about politics I just it never came up Nets never imposed on it This is like literally the first net that did right so when I first came on I didn't even know how to act how to speak Marsha had passed, and I tried to you know Try to take her stand on certain things, but the best was Listening to the Kelly Contreras show Because she and a few reasons She was like Shelly my friend Shelly but less explicit without the swearing so she could set up opposition points and all the rest of it without swearing so I really looked up to her for that and then I tried it you know do the same thing here although I get a little carried away I do get to criticizing people she says don't do that but I started to actually have a backbone and a side right before I didn't know what to be on I didn't know you know that certain people weren't your friends because they don't live there I mean that's a real big reason because I try not to do that now right because I said to her what you mean people from the South you mean certain people she said well try not to do that quite as much right just try to base it on what you honestly believe and follow the news and and try to let that direct you more than just criticizing, I mean people are going to go racial anyways, you don't have to, so I always hoped that I kind of mimicked or followed a lead, a positive lead, I hoped that it was a positive lead, so then I started to wake up and as you saw, once I started to wake up and essentially see the light or Kelly's like because I call her an evil twin well then I started to be ousted by people same as kind of you were right that never happened to me before one thing she kind of taught me to see one thing that I did that that was a mistake she told me you can't be everybody's best friend that shit don't work Kevin she said stop caring about being everyone's best friend just don't so then probably since you guys let go of a few people and a few people left, I think I've changed so and it's thanks really it's largely thanks to her because probably in the middle of the pandemic I stayed the F away from all of this stuff didn't care didn't think didn't care but you know she she brought to light a lot of things and made it chewable made a digestible in bite-sized chunks I really appreciate it and then I've crafted my nets and my overs kind of like that, right? I've dropped the accent and I think I've got it down pat. I just don't have her trigger style So, okay. I said the short version ended up writing a book. I should be here. I didn't sleep very well Obviously I was on a I was on an adrenaline high talking to her and so at some point I got to get my ass to work and I don't know when I'll do it.
