And the testing of these spores is part of ongoing research in trying to offer a biological stepping stone for developing ecosystems around the world. So when you're hearing about the IFS looking at survivability of bacteria and plants and moss and things like this up in space, the thinking behind it is to try and come up with a mythology to be able to use that knowledge to create ecosystems on other planets like Mars for instance. At some point if we colonize Mars you have to have a way to grow food there and so this is where all this is leading to. We want to see how organisms on Earth here like plants for instance, how well they will of item space and if they do, that translates into their usability elsewhere when we finally colonize some place either within the solar system or outside it.
