It's a jumping up of an analog signal to convert it to digital. There is a formula that you can use but I'm sure it's in your syllabus if you check it out. When I was at college and I used to go through syllabuses of any exam I was taking to make sure that I knew something about every item because you'd be doing the exam and a question would pop up and you'd think well I don't know anything about that. I always knew a little bit about a lot of things. But yeah it's the formula for obviously at the rate at which you chop an analog signal into a digital signal that affects the quality of the audio level. So they call it quantization, the mechanism. But you're right. I mean a lot of people have never heard of it but it's in the syllabus. So I think the syllabus could do with a little bit of a tweak. I'd like to tweak it.
