Back to Goofy. This is KC2PKG. Thank you KB9MSK. The Big Easy is technically a radiant heater and you know it's funny I every once in a while hear a disaster story about frying a turkey we just never never happened to us and we did it for 15 years. This is the first year in 15 years we're not frying a turkey. So and I've had spillovers and all sorts of stuff on wooden decks and it never ever caught fire just doesn't you know you if it catches fire federal catches fire you got it too hot you're in the above 400 degree range if you keep it down just under 400 you know 375 um you shouldn't have it should not burn it should not burn um it's just not hot enough to get the oil to burn but it's terrible it's a terrible thing. I was always scared of it happening. The Big Easy is a tube with jets on the outside in between the outside wall and the cooking tube itself. Inside that tube go racks and you can put whatever you want on those racks like when we did the chicken and put the chicken on the bottom I just laid it on the bottom and then we put baking potatoes on the top and the the whole thing took about an hour. It is slower than oil frying a turkey but oil frying a turkey is like maybe five minutes a pound whereas the Big Easy is probably ten minutes a pound. That's a rough comparison but when you take into account the time it takes to heat up the oil which can take an hour and a half for like 12 to 14 pound turkey get enough oil to cover and stuff like that I can take an hour and a half to getting up to heat and of course soon as you put it in the heat goes zoink down to the bottom down to 300 and no time at all and then it slowly builds back up again but it's a big mess it's it's scary it's dangerous and you have to watch it the whole time that's my rule fire you have fire or possible burning oil you somebody sits there with it the whole time so can snow on you and stuff like that but let me drop it for a sec
