Victor Alpha three Victor was he actually returning that's an old wives tale I'm not sure when that started but I do know it gained prevalence in the 50s and it was some people still believe it or you'll hear you know people in tornado you'll talk to people well the river is over there and the river keeps the tornadoes away and I don't know about that but uh but um as far as opening windows yeah don't do that the tornado will do it for you that's the common knowledge just get to shelter but there's in fact opening windows might cause more damage because first off you're allowing the wind and the rain into your home rather with the windows closed you're not structurally it's not going to make any difference because the wind is going to pick apart your house long before you have to worry about the pressure differential between the inside and outside of you know that if if your house survives and makes it to the inside of a tornado let's say the pressure differential isn't going to be enough to pop the roof off and in fact most structural failures with homes occur because the roof starts lifting and then you lose your structural integrity and one of the walls let's say it's a square house one of your four supporting walls outside that's facing into the window start collapsing in once the roof starts lifting and then it's over it's finished right it's been structurally compromised. A window frame in a house unless that would be a feat of engineering structurally a window frame in a house provides absolutely no structural integrity to a home or a building or anything whether it exists or does not exist won't change anything so the pressure differential is not going to be big enough that a house is going to the roof is going to pop off or or anything so so yeah it's still I think in the 90s they began to really address that myth weather services around the world but some people do still buy into although I think at this point in time it's largely died out let me drop it Kim
