I used the newest version of Ubuntu, Ubuntu 24 point something or other, but I've seen videos where people install Linux Mint or whatever. It has to be an Intel Mac, you know like a MacBook, MacBook Air, a Mini, an iMac, any of the Intel ones before they started coming out with the M series. And you can just pop in a regular old 64 bit installer that's made for a PC and hold the Alt or Command or whatever on your keyboard. It'll boot right into the installer man. You don't have to do any trickery. Like back in the day when I originally tried this, you had to go edit the files on the USB stick and trick in the UFEI boot loader and blah blah blah. But nope, none of that no more. You just pop in the installer and up it will come, click install Linux and you're off to the races man. And it literally picked up everything. Even the built in webcam, the mic, the speakers, wifi, everything worked out of the box. I was shocked.
