Yeah well I went to QRC about 18 years ago, and a friend of mine got me back into Hobbies late last year and my cost hasn't changed quite a lot. More digital modes, DMR, Fusion, DS, of course a lot of those modes have been around for years and years anyway but I actually delved into DMR last year and now I'm going to delve into Fusion as well as. But yes as John said the hobby is quite cheap now if you want to go to the cheap route with the Eintone stuff or the Kuo Zhang and Bo Feng whatever. It's amazing and the quality is really good as well you know. Watching videos and putting the old meters there and there's no harmonics you know there's absolutely spots on incredible for such a cheap radio and you can't go wrong can you really but unfortunately I'm an icon man myself. I don't live far from the actual ICOM UK. It's about half an hour drive from me so it's just up the road for me so I'm lucky there. But I've got a couple of ICOM 7000s in my shack, one in my car and one in my shack there. Lovely lovely old radio and still going strong and you know I think now that the things last longer you know I think they're much better built as such than all that being a surface mount with my eyesight you can't repair them anymore. But there is a good idea there we go but yeah enjoying the hobby immensely and especially the digital side of things when HF bands go down because of flares and what not. Just dive to other modes under your belt and still communicate around the world as we are now. Many thanks.
