Hey, thanks King Arthur. Thanks for taking my check in. This is Phil K0 of the X in Colorado. So on this day in history, November 3rd, 1868, Ulysses S. Grant was elected 18th President of the United States. In American politics, we have lobbyists. One of the origins of the lobbyists is attributed to the Grant administration. After a long day's work, President Grant, he liked to retire to the lobby of the Willard Hotel and have a cigar and a brandy. So he would visit the lobby there, buy the President a drink, and get his ear on the current political situation and on legislation. So, yeah, the lobbyists. And lobbyists have gotten a bad rep over the years, but really the function of the lobbyists is to provide insight and information to the legislators on upcoming legislation. So, for instance, a lot of our legislators are lawyers. Well, they know law, but they don't necessarily know anything about biotechnology or telecommunications or any number of things that come up for legislation. So it's the lobbyist who educates them and gives them insight on that. Of course, the lobbyists have to be careful because they are trying to bend the legislation maybe towards what's best for business and not what's best for the consumer, but that's a different issue. Anyway, this being history, November 3rd, 1868, K0BX back to King Arthur.
