Scientists estimate that two-thirds of the marine life have yet to be discovered. And the sad thing is that extinctions are happening so fast. Many species wink out before scientists are aware of them. Large, unknown animals could be living in remote or inaccessible places. The ocean trenches, for instance, dense rain forests, unexplored caves, and mountainous regions where they might have evolved to elude humans. So the best place right now, as far as they can tell, to find any new species out there, large species, is in the oceans, whereas there's about two-thirds or more of marine life that has still been left to be discovered.
