Okay, well I'm going to stay on this a little longer. I'm hearing carriers, so I'm guessing that there's people that's trying to make the attempt. So, in the Canberra Valley part last week, we didn't make any contacts. I remember Robert had made a couple of makeshift radios. He actually designed the low-power HF radios that he had. They were good radios. I feel like I almost wouldn't want one. They were little tiny rigs and they were running this loud generator. They had this big generator going with the equipment attached to it. They had these power strips laid right out and they were hanging on a big piece of string suspended into the air. Almost every outlet on the power strips were used. They had radios set up. There was a guy who had an HT. He had that plugged in and he was monitoring some repeater that I didn't even know we could even get here. It was a VE7, but I don't remember what it was. And then there was another guy that had his phone. He was monitoring Echo Inc. and he was monitoring the VE3 POR repeater in Toronto, the Toronto repeater. So that was what was going on. And the funny thing, there was a difference this year and last year. Okay, well, it wasn't exactly last year. A few months back, field day, I remembered Robert because he took me to the thing too. He's usually somebody I go with on events. And he came to Vancouver to attend the PNE. Anyways, he... Well, I said I wanted to bring my... I wanted to bring a couple of blunts and bring my pipe and bring my weed. So he said, no, don't do that. And this time what happened was I didn't say anything. But I had my vape here and no one even cared. So that's good. At least I got that worked out where even when we were in the depths of the park, I was able to sneak vape tokes, which kind of helped. So the mint Kush gave me a little bit of inspiration. So we did make like a sort of attempted few contacts. And then that's how it went. I kind of almost wondered what would happen. See, we tend to do these things during the contest weekend. So I kind of wondered what would happen if we maybe hit on the weekday. It would have been interesting to see that happen to see when people least expect to see what the bands would have been like combing through that. And so there'll be another event. And now next week, I don't remember the location, but Robert and a few others are going to a radio museum. I don't know if I really want to go to that. They're going to look at old relics from the 20s and 30s. It might be an excuse to get out of the house. Who knows? So he did say to give him a shout next Thursday and then we're supposed to drive like 500 miles. Who knows? Maybe we're going to the ostrich farm. Hey, if they're going to whack those ostriches, get one for me for Christmas. It'd be nice to have a Christmas ostrich instead of a Christmas turkey.
