7k and no return now, thought I'd just check because it happened when I keyed up last time, well during my transmission so thought I'd better check it wasn't something my end, but clearly not. We've had an interesting week but before we get onto that, Chester's had an amazing day. He went out for a dummy test, so that's the dummies of use of field trial training. He's going to be a working dog as you know, but we can also use dummies to give him some practice on retrieval in the rough and things like that. So it's the first time that he's heard a gun fire and he immediately just sat, watched it, and the gun went off, didn't react, watched the end, watched the dummy fly through the air, landed about 200 yards away from him, waited for the command and off he went, retrieved it, brought it straight back and sat straight back down again. 100% instinctual. Obviously I've worked really hard with retrieval with him of various things, he does like sticks, but he's been working across water into rough and having to put his nose down. He's learnt all the commands just through playground, everything through play and a Labrador will do anything for you. But if you're worried about your dog running away, turn away, walk the other way, they'll come back instantly. Back to you Graham.
