Hey good evening this is KK7TSH I'm mobile over here heading into Seabek from Silverdale area. Boy what an evening. I was over at a friend's house on Monday night because he's out of town and his family he's just working but he's a long term TD buyout in Hawaii and his family's still here though and they're having some hot water issues so I went over there and just you know classic under performance water heater stuff and I did some troubleshooting and I figured okay it's probably a thermostat and just based on everything that I was getting with my meter and some other testing I did based on current readings and things and I went over there and I swapped the thermostat out but I didn't change the symptoms I thought okay well you know I was running out of things I could beat so I guess I'm going to do the heating element next even though they owned outright so I got to do that and I start manipulating valves and then I realized so if I shut the cold water side I had all these weird burbling and gurgling from the tank which led me right down the rabbit hole of something is flowing on the hot water side that shouldn't be because there's nothing open and to make a very long story short I just went out to the meter and there's a .52 gallon per minute leak somewhere so around the house under the house and under the house I went and I'm very dirty and very wet now but I got under the house and it was like a sauna under there and there's a huge huge break and come to find out there's polybutylene pipe under there so I feel bad for them but that's where my level of expertise ends I've never dealt with polybutylene just copper and iron so unfortunately they're going to have to get a plumber for that one but you know it'll get all fixed in the end so yeah so I'm just head to toe in dirt and mud and whatever else is under there and driving home right now so I can get warm and cozy up in QDH but I'll send it back and I hope you all have a great night and warmer and drier than I am right now and have a good one everyone 73 KK7 TSH back to net control
