Give us moon on Halloween night. It should be up and give you a little bit of extra nightlight while they're out trick or treating there. The moon was at Apogee, it's closest approach to the earth in October back on the 8th. It was 223,581 miles from earth. The moon was at Apogee, it's farthest point away from the earth this month, and the 23rd was 252,553 miles from earth. For November we got a full moon coming up on the 5th and the moon will be at Perigee, it's closest approach to the earth on the 5th as well, making that particular full moon a super moon, which means that it's going to be about as big as you're going to see it in the sun, about 15%, maybe 10 or 15% larger than normal, the same percentage is larger in brightness, that's on the 5th. So look for that, it's bright enough that you might be able to read a newspaper, it may be a little tough, but you might be able to read a newspaper under that full moon, hopefully it will be clear for you. So look for that full moon coming up next week.
