This is N7JEJ talking about rats. I can't believe it. No, yes, we have rats out. I live on the Hood Canal, right on the water. So we have rats, mice, bulls, squirrels, bats, otters, rabbits, sea lions, raccoons, and everything else, bear, deer, cougar, bobcats. Where I'm going with this is two stories. One was my neighbor of mine who no longer lives there, but they had a pet door for their dog to go in and out of the house, and a raccoon got into their kitchen. And when the neighbor went to confront him, it got awfully angry, so he pulled out a shotgun and blew it away in his kitchen. In his kitchen. You want to talk about the smell of blood? It was everywhere. It took him weeks. I think he ended up having, well, other than repairing the walls, he had to repaint and everything. It was horrible. It was a crime scene. The other one is, I go back to my childhood. I'm from Detroit, and we didn't have rats, surprisingly, but we had an old theater, and it was called Farnam in Hamtramck, and they went to knock it down. I think this was in the 60s. And when they knocked it down, it released rats into the neighborhood. And I remember my father was building benches, and he was giving them away, and he was just doing it. I don't know why, but he was on his knees, on the ground, pounding nails, and a huge rat came by, and without a blink, down came the hammer, destroyed the rat, and scarred me for the rest of my life. I think I was probably like three or four years old. But anyways, there you go, and those are my stories. Back over to you, Jack. KI7RMU and 7JBJ. Rats.
