Good evening Joan and everybody on the net. That hurricane is Melissa. Right now it's just southwest of Jamaica. It's a category 5 hurricane and it's a sunny winter like 175 miles an hour. That's catastrophic. I'm thinking about the people in Jamaica and once it makes landfall there it's supposed to move north and northeast and probably affect the eastern part of Cuba and then make its way into the kirkenkakel thousands. It will lose some strength back that time. But then the thing that's saving the family in the United States from being affected is there's a cold front that's making its way from the west. Here in southeast Texas we're actually going to be affected by it. It's going to drop our temperatures quite a bit. This is going to be the first real cold front of the season. It's going to drop our temperatures down into the 50s at night and then low 70s in the daytime. It's also going to bring us some rain. We had some rain this past weekend which is a relief because we're starting to get into drought conditions. I also like Wesley Crusher. He was an interesting character. A couple of times he actually saved the ship. He was just being a kid. It's amazing that I always thought that as an acting he had all this responsibility driving the ship and doing all kinds of things. I don't understand why people disliked him so much. I actually missed him leading the show after season four. I know he made an appearance as recently as last year in the Picard series that was on Netflix or something like that. While we're on the topic of space, I was saddened to find out that the actress June Markhart passed away at the age of 100. People who watch Lost in Space, I remember her being playing Maureen Robinson, who the mother of Will Robinson and the other kids and the likes of Professor John Robinson. People also probably remember her from Lassie, Catacled Junction, and a whole bunch of other movies and TV shows. She lived to be 100 years old and she had a remarkable career, a long career. She made her debut in the Christmas story, not Christmas story, Christmas Carol with her parents, Jean and Kathleen Lockhart. She was also on the E in St. Louis and she just did a whole bunch of stuff. She was always a familiar face on TV. She just had a great voice and she would have made a good hand radio operator, I think. She always came across as being warm and encouraging. I always called her America's mom. I've tried to hear that she passed. Anyway, that's all I've got going around. Thanks for hosting Net Jones 73. Nice to talk to you. K-F-I-W-I-D dot net.
