This is... Good evening Joan, this is Ka9EHG, Ann in Seattle. Well, let's see... Working on those books that are eating my breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all my meals for the next 50 zillion years, that my cousin Rob calls the Sextuplets, the first one of these, the 30 second pitch goes roughly like this. So the story of the space cadet is an old science fiction trope. This is where the young intrepid, often a guy, but in more contemporary times girls also can do this, joins the space navy academy or joins the space navy period and in spite of substantial odds, succeeds wildly and the fleet wins the battle and the cadet gets promoted and everybody's happy. The Heinlein's version of this story was called Space Cadet. Nathan Lowell's version of this story is called Quarter Share and he took six books to get his cadet up to captain and owner. I have one that, a space cadet story, which is a little different because the cadet is 66 years old. She didn't want to join. She has five kids and one grand kid and she is now suddenly going to go off into the wild space yonder and that's the kick. This is a space cadet who didn't want to join. She didn't think she'd ever fly spaceships. She's 66 years old and she doesn't really have a choice. Anyway, I'm having fun with the book and so is my cousin. So anyway, that's been today. I wrote today. I have some dictation today. It was fun. 73, 33, 88. Thanks to John for doing the net. Thanks to all of you for listening. Hello God. This is KA9EHV back tonight.
