I'm on a road trip from Virginia here to Washington State to visit my daughter and her family and heading on back in a couple days and figured I'd bring my radio with me along the route and made a couple contacts by Flex Radio by the internet. Today I've hooked up my little UHF VHF radio and I'm checking into the net. My main intention is to get everything set up so that I can introduce my five year old grandson to the world of ham radio and my intent is to find somebody on one of the nets and just get him a chance to hear somebody on the radio and talk to them right quick just as a way to introduce him to the hobby and get him started early.
