Melatonin is a hormone released at night that is set in stage for sleep. When melatonin levels rise, serotonin is a feel-good hormone that helps control mood and appetite decreases. Once light is introduced, especially bright moonlight, so if you have your window open at night and bright moonlight is coming through, it may have an effect on our ability to fall asleep. Computer screens and TV screens are notorious for this. You have blue light that can soften them and affect the amount of tonum production and therefore affects our sleep cycle.
