Hey, thanks for taking my check in, Joe. And first off, happy hump day to the net. Yeah, my story is tame compared to what I'm here. Yeah, let's see. Back in the late 80s, my wife and I and a buddy, we moved out here. We moved out to Colorado, Virginia. And so we got into rock climbing and mountain climbing. And so me and my buddy, George, one day we went out to bag two peaks, Mount Bierstadt and Mount Evans here in Colorado. And they're both 14,000 foot peaks. So we were hacking through some willows and bushwhacking. And we got up to the top of Mount Bierstadt, the first peak, so we checked that off the list. And now we can look over and see Mount Evans. So we ended Mount Bierstadt, and we're trying to figure out how to get there. So we started scrambling up this feature. It's called a sawtooth. And it looked pretty reasonable, and it started out as class three rock scrambling. But as we got further up, it got more difficult. And we were just in hiking boots. We didn't have any rope for climbing gear. And we got about halfway up the sawtooth, and it's getting to the point where now it's dangerous to down climb. So we're pretty much committed. And about halfway up, we encountered this move that it wasn't technically difficult, but it's exposed. So it was a dynamic move. So I'm standing on this rock, and the move is to step across this gap, take a big step across the gap, and grab this rock. And it's a simple move, but looking down, and the consequences of a fall are not good. If you miss the move, you're going to die. So fortunately, and we didn't have any thinking, why didn't I bring a rope? But I didn't. So we executed the move. And fortunately, there wasn't anything more difficult above, because we're not in a position where we can down climb this. So if it got worse above, we're stranded. But unfortunately, we didn't, and got up to the top, made it over to Mount Evans, and completed our circuit. So yeah, it was kind of a near-death experience, and taught me to bring a rope. So that's what I have here. Happy hump day. K0OVX, back to net.
