It's really some f***ing line-walking. So, things had to be just right for Earth to become a life-sustaining world it is today. And how likely is it that there are other worlds out there like it? And nobody knows. It may take more than being a habitable zone for an echo planet to support life. There may be a mind-boggling number of variables that have to go right, including other giant planets that migrate and deliver private, rocky worlds in a habitable zone. So it might not be just that worlds have to look like Earth and have to be within a habitable zone if their planetary parentages are. In order for life to form a planet, there may be much more that has to happen. And if that's the case, there is also an ambient life going on.
