I remember somewhere in my life I actually had a Cobra, a CB radio, I forget where or how but I remember I had one probably in one of my cars. It probably didn't last very long but yeah, the radio I talked about has a dump. It was probably the Uniden, it's sort of that you said Uniden. So they made a 10 meter only Uniden and they sold it at Radio Shack and had the dump thing for the VFO. That's the one I got. And I tell you, for a radio, when the band was open, boy I was talking to people all over the place. You know, it's 10 meters. When 10 meters is open, you could talk to people in Asia. It's just like they're sitting right next to you. That was back when the bands were really strong when they were open. I got a feeling that the bands from what I see just aren't as strong as they were a long time ago. Maybe it's me or maybe it's because I don't have a good antenna system. But I'm hearing that from a lot of people that the magnetic thing isn't as strong as making the bands weaker.
