So it seems from this research that, nothing entirely conclusive yet, that lead early on didn't have as big of an effect on us as other primates at that particular time, other ancestral hominids, simply because we had a variant, a gene variant that had to protect our brain and that was much more effective than some of the other primates at the time, including our archaic velvets, Neanderthals and perezids.
