And their aim was to determine the resuscitation rate and the growth rate for microbes that lived during that period. And one of the things that researchers noticed when they went into the tunnel was one thing they found was mammoth and bison bones protruding from the wall. And the other thing they noticed when they walked in there is the odor. Apparently the odor is really bad in that. However, to scientists that have been microbiologists, those bones are often produced by microbes.
