Yeah, the only technical detail I noticed was that there is a worldwide database that you can use for stolen phones. And I guess the only way to get around that with an iPhone is not connect to iCloud. That's how you do it and then Apple never knows. And maybe you don't update because the phone only costs you two or three hundred bucks. You just get another phone. But I haven't heard any other technical details on how they do that. It's probably on purpose.
