Wow historical event. The whale. Salt talks up in the Keflavik Ice or actually Rekavik Ice at the church. Actually there was security up there at the time. And I got to see Bush and I got to see his car and I didn't see, who was that, Lübensraus? But I did see, I just got a glimpse, you know, but that, does that count as historical or something that happened that was around? And then there was another president, Jimmy Carter. I was roughly 15, 16 at the time. Something like that. Well anyways, he was taking a ferryboat up the river through Missouri and stopping from town to town if he could. He was re-electioned. And he stopped in a tiny town called Windfield, Missouri. I mean this thing is the Po-Dunk town, population 300. Out in the middle of nowhere, but I think the ferry stopped there because they had some type of dock so he'd get off and all that kind of stuff. He was re-set. And so he got there and it was him, his wife and his daughter. And there was a handful of us, maybe 12, 13 people actually showed up. And I was one of them and I got to see Jimmy Carter's hand and I thought that was kind of cool. Oh, one more. So back in Iceland, it was in 1984 I think it was. And basically what happened is that Europe was having a great big science show and they flew the mock model, the Enterprise space shuttle I think it was. Was it called the Enterprise? Yeah, Enterprise maybe. And it landed on top of the 747 in Iceland and stayed there overnight and that was pretty thrilling. In fact there was 250,000 people on the island and I think they were all on the base to see this thing land in Iceland before it went over to Europe. Strange thing is, they used to do some guard duty with an Icelandic police officer on base at one of the gates and he was listening to radio Moscow. I couldn't understand it. I asked him, hey what are you talking about on there? And he said, well we're talking about this show that happened in Europe and Russia is saying that all that the Americans could do is bring over a mock-up model of the space shuttle. And here we had all kinds, the Russians had all kinds of scientific stuff there and it was just fantastic and they really showed America when it came to ingenuity and science and technology and blah blah blah. And I said, okay. Well when NASA came flying back through they stopped to get in Iceland, not the space shuttle, just NASA themselves. And I got to do customs on the plane, one of the planes that came in, a small jet. And I was asking the pilot, I told him the story of what Moscow radio was talking about and the guy laughed and said all they had there, all that Russia had there was books. Just rows and rows and rows of books. That was their display. So, anyhow, that's about it. That's the only things I can remember that were really historical.
