It sounds perfect. It is not overmodulated. I am sure you would agree with me that being overmodulated is worse. It makes it less clear. Which is worse than if it is not loud. What you have it set on for the mic distance and everything is perfect. I would say you have got it. It sounds commensurate with the level that I am using. Which is a ridiculously overkill. I have four of these microphones. I might as well use them. This is a Maddy FCM1000 large diaphragm dual element mic running into an M-Audio interface. I am just using a phantom powered pre-applifier. Running into the iCom IC2300H external microphone input. I am running a high mic level into the radio. I have the radios mic gain on its minimum setting. I try to get my modulation level to be just right. You sound to me commensurate with my mic level. I will listen again. I am pretty sure you are right about that. I will listen to my 200 millisecond tail and listen to your voice come back.
