No, it wouldn't. You've got to have the radio programmed up with that person's credentials and the call sign got to match the seven digit DMR ID. If you're with a D-Star repeater, your call sign got to be registered through the repeater because that has a gateway on it. And yeah, there's a lot of registration that comes with all of those digital modes, kind of like there is with All-Star, but I mean you key up on anything. All-Star is only really applicable to number and stuff. You're going to be doing linking yourself, right? You've got a repeater or a node or a hotspot or something like that. Or if you're using phone portals and stuff, I guess you use your All-Star number that way.
