So the long and short of this is that what they're doing now is they've come up with a new methodology. They're looking for a new methodology to help find dark matter. Dark matter doesn't interact with ordinary matter. So any apparatus you set up for observation, experimental observation, you're not going to get results from dark matter because it won't interact with normal matter. So the only way you can actually see it right now is through how it reacts indirectly with everything around it.
