The research team for this, they focused on the black hole, the shadow region that appears dark in the Event Horizon Telescope observations of M87 and the Sagittarius A, Sagittarius A, etc. of our galaxy. The Event Horizon Telescope is a global network of radio observatories. They work all together to achieve this kind of Earth-sized resolution through very long baseline interferometry. Working at trees of about 30 GHz, the telescope captures synchrotron radiation. This is radiation that is produced when electrons are spiraling along intense magnetic field lines near supermassive black holes. They give off this radiation in the form of light. The magnetic, the arrested disk model, I'll use the acronym for this, MAD, has consistently given the best agreement with the Event Horizon Telescope observations. This MAD model shows strong magnetic field penetrating the accretion disk where they both regulate the flow of the falling matter. The jets, usually powerful jets, interrupt perpendicular to the disk.
