He's got more about this as I go on with this, but after joining the Endurance 22, the expedition that located the sunken wreck of the Endurance in March of 2022, Tukri analyzed the ship's structure and studied how it may have responded to the moving ice that would have compressed the ship's hull. He also looked at the journal of several of Endurance's crew members, along with some of Shackleton's letters to his wife and fellow sailors. In this new study, this was published October 6th, this came out in the journal Polar Record, Tukri outlined some structural issues that might have played a big role in Endurance's destruction. The ship had a relatively large engine room, which was difficult to reinforce, and so therefore it was out of this weakened, a large section of the hull. And unlike lots of other polar ships at the time, Endurance didn't have diagonal beams installed as important a strength as hull. Stop it. Beep.
