He remembered me this time. He remembered me this time. Yep, I know that state distracted you. That was my bad. The net actually started as the breakfast club net. Don McLean, KDA RAD, was out of Michigan, up near the Capitol up there, drawing a blank. When he first started it, it went seven days a week. He was out here for eight hours every morning. Then it got cut back to six, then it got cut back to five. It was going for about five or six hours every morning. He would get seconds. He would get seconds. He'd get close to 100 a day. Of course, there was a lot more hours, and a lot of those seconds were... Well, some of them would stick around, some of them were just checking it out. Paul, the original N9 OFU, had the Do Drop In conference. He connected it up to Michigan Repeater. That's how I ended up discovering the breakfast club net, and discovering Don there, Don McLean. His wife had the ladies' tea time net Tuesday afternoon. After a while, Don had to keep cutting back because of his health. Then his wife passed away, and he kept it going for a little bit. But just his health was deteriorated, plus he moved into a care facility, or an assisted living. The net kind of went away for a while. Then someone talked Russell into starting this net. Russell would always check in, and at the end of his over, he'd always say, surf's up, Kawabunga dude. That's how we ended up with the Kawabunga net, because that was Russell's signature. His... I can't think of the word. Whoops, got to grab one here in just a second.
