Yeah, actually I went to the barber college here a couple weeks ago. But it's getting in shape for that time of year. Yeah, I enjoyed the lunch yesterday with the guys and gals. So that was good. And let's see, I was in TV in the 60s. A friend of mine was, I was an archer and I hunted and he had dogs. And he called himself Night Hunter. And people thought he was saying 900. And so he changed his CB name to Unit 900. And his wife was named Cotton Candy. And we actually had a net back then. And there was an older guy running the net. And there was a guy named Paper Cop. And we had a Yogi Bear. I think we have a Yogi Bear now, I think. Maybe it's the same one, I don't know. But he moved out to St. Helens, which is about, I don't know, 40 miles kind of west of us, close to the Columbia River. And he put up a Moonraker antenna and he got a 1000-watt linear amplifier out of Seattle. The guy, the ham probably knew he was going to use it for a CB. He wouldn't have sold it to him. But it had some great big tubes in it, I tell you. He'd crank that up with that Moonraker antenna. And he could talk anywhere in the U.S. he wanted to. He was in Beaverton and he would peg my needle. Oh, he sold me his Cobra Cam 88 that he had been using. And then I was in the parking lot of Safeway or somewhere. A guy saw it and he wanted it. It was a tube set. And so, I don't know, we were pretty poor back then and I sold it to him. And then I got out of CB for... And then at 70s, the guys at work were all on there, so I got back into it. So we would talk to each other on the way to work or whatever. So this friend, he also, he was a little bit of an outlaw. He, back in those days, they had crystals in the radio. And he reversed the crystals, so he was talking on the receive and vice versa. Anyway, so he kind of had a private... you'd only hear one side of the conversation. He also must have got into airplanes or something. He was flying and he crashed his plane and he just hauled it home. He didn't contact the authorities. He kind of skirted the law a little bit. Anyway, yeah, KB7, PBW, back in there. Hey, sounds good there Mel. And, uh, you see, I remember crystals. Yeah, crystals when I got into my scanners. Yeah, I had to buy a crystal for your specific frequencies. But, you know, my base station when I was a kid was a Demco Super Satellite. Three piece unit, receiver, modulator, transmitter. And it was full of tubes. And you could set the receiver on one frequency and the transmitter on another. So even on CD radio, I don't think it was legal, but you could talk on one channel and receive on another and kind of have a little privacy thing going on there. So, good stuff. Anyway, thanks Mel. Glad you're looking good for the part you have coming up here. And not that long, not that far away. Anyway, thanks Mel. Have a great day there. And let's go to Missy, KC7FMW from KK7's internet.
