I remember when it was as cheap as about 20 bucks and I had an old, well my computer had a 14.4 modem in there and that was my speed. I used to, I don't know if you remember this but do you remember all the DBS's around here before you had the internet? Oh yes, my first modem was a 300 baud modem. Woohoo, screaming fast. I started into this early early. They're still golden boards, I still use them. Not so much dial up, mostly it's over the internet now but you're still connecting with a terminal client to a standard DBS with anti graphics, it's great. A lot of the old boards have gone to secure connections, some every now and then you'll catch one that still wants to run just telnet but not so many. There's a whole scene out there.
