The protocol is an early protocol use. I think it's just that there's a Bluetooth module in it. They got it really early in the game, I believe. And they did start developing that radio, I think, a long time back. That's why the 75 is, hopefully they cleaned up its ability to handle the charge, current surge on decision making, on how fast it decides whether the battery is charged enough and what you're trying to have it do when it turns on. What, you know, its configuration and stuff on boot up. Yeah, oh, and I've had the D74 mic at, I bought it and I went to, it cost me almost 100 bucks to get a real one from eBay source. Supposedly it's a genuine one, it seems to be real, but it didn't take long for the cord to give at, yeah, it wouldn't PTT anymore and it was at the mic base. Or was it at the, no it was at the mic, yeah, and it gave out, it was like, it wouldn't PTT anymore, that made the whole thing useless. And it was 75 bucks, I think, with shipping to find a new cable. If you were to use that thing, because it is so sensitive to that, I would buy two of those cables and make good splice on it, good weatherproof splice on it and put two of those cables together. And seal it up good at the radio. That might work, but still, I think you, I don't know how you'd be able to take the old protocol and make a modern helmet work with the old, old protocol. There might be a box, a converter box for that, like a repeater for Bluetooth for that, that maybe will do the bi-directional control and audio stuff properly to an old Kenwood. Boy, that sounds like a project, a hardware project that some genius could pull off, maybe. Do some searches, maybe on DuckDuckGo for that. Probably Kenwood, early Kenwood Bluetooth protocol adapted for motorcycle helmets. That might turn up something, I'll bet you it does. And if it could be done a large enough so you can work on it, no, that's not possible, it would be surface mount. Back to you, and I hope I haven't timed it out. KJ7VEU.
