The hours associated with the periodic comet-Jupiter generation may extend from October 6 to 10, though the point of maximum is very sharply defined within a four-hour interval on October 9. But the annual maximum hour inmates are not consistent as they yet rarely produce any recognizable shower except during years especially close to the parent comet per year in passage. The meteors are slow and tend to be relatively faint. They are generally yellow. You have the Orionage. The duration of this meteor shower extends from October 15 to 29, with maximum occurring on the morning of October 21. The maximum hourly rate is usually about 20. And the meteors are described as fast. This year, the Orionage should be pretty good since it will be very close to the dark of the moon. We have a new moon on the 21st, so definitely avail yourself of checking out for the Orionage. This year you won't have any moon to contend with over those periods of time for the most part. You will in the early morning hours before the peak. But after the peak, it should be pretty good. Definitely check it out for the Orionage. This is one of the better fall meteor showers. Okay, we've got the southern Taurus. This meteor shower is active from September 10 to November 20. The maximum occurs on the morning of October 10. The maximum average is 5 m per hour. The meteors are described as bright and move more slowly than typical meteors, and the Orionage is a prime subject for imaging and viewing.
