Sounds like it's probably an expensive chair with a cheap motor system because it is nothing to have traction control. You know, tax signals that say the wheel is spinning while it's being driven and you should cut power to that wheel so that it isn't spinning that wheel. That isn't exactly rocket surgery. This is not a cheap chair though, I'll bet.
