There wouldn't have been no phone back when those things were on the go, that's for sure. No cell phone or nothing anyway with music on it back then. That was the 80s, man, the 80s and the early 90s when I had those tape players. Never had the daisy player because I had no need for it as I got older. I just realized I could download books online and stuff, but never bothered with that one. But I did do the micro-cassettes and the mini-disc for a while. I was obsessed with that. Had a separate mini-disc deck actually that was in my home theater setup that I could record music digitally to mini-disc and not have to listen to it. It was done digitally through the optical port on it for transferring music to mini-disc. Had a lower dose for a while. Man, I had some physical media over the years. I even transferred some of my vinyl records back in the day over to CD and then they eventually got ripped from MP3s and then the Pops and Hisses were all cleaned up with some software and I was still listening to recording. This drive that I'm waiting to recover has some Elvis Presley anniversary collection vinyls that were ripped to it that I just never bothered to get the CD to. I just ripped it from vinyl. And I don't have any of those physical media anymore. Like none of it. It was all stored digitally.
