KELO Mike 7, CLB. I am also a FEMA certified person and a wilderness first responder. I do a lot of backpacking. I have a sailboat. I attend the boater's net. I listen in every day. I try to check in whenever my signal is strong enough. I'm in Everett three and a half miles east of Paine Field. But at any rate, because of these emergency services, it just makes sense to be a ham. But I'm also finding it is a great alternative to online social media.
