Yeah, hey thanks a lot D, no it's not the same guy, it's the same name. Roy Tucker, but not the same guy. He'd be a lot older, the one I'm thinking about would be like 103, 109 years old. Um, let's see, let's see what I remember. He used to do something called the Renegade Roundup, which was a special net that he did pretty much on the worst frequency ever. It wasn't even really a good frequency to have the net on, and it was on the 435 repeater. And then for many years he was known to be the owner of that repeater. And in the 2000s he got in trouble with the FCC for having over 80 call signs, and they widowed it down to like 20 something. Because he had a lot of club calls, that's what ended up getting him in trouble. Another thing that ended up getting him in trouble was because he's advanced and he has, he's an examiner. So he used to just give licenses away almost, like probably wouldn't take much. You know, the guy was very down to earth and friendly. So maybe you kick it with him for a little bit, next thing you know you got any license you want. What license you want, I got you, what do you want? One of those AB9 calls, what you want? A minute ago you, nobody ever heard of you. But now you're, what you want? You want techie tech? You want general? You want advanced, which doesn't exist anymore? Or extra, what you want? I got you, I got you. What you want? Extra, general? You know, so I don't know if he actually really does have that huge of a ham family. There could be a chance that you know, maybe he got licenses for some of his family members. But there's probably those that don't even give a shit about the hobby. So that was a question, right? Well, think about it. Okay, these people spent months in court with it. Now I just took a few seconds and I came to the conclusion, you know, I'm asking, right? Like do you honestly have this many people in your family that are hams? And well, I'm sure they, you know, cut that down to size in the best way they did. And then of course I'd wonder, you got all these clubs, are these actually really radio clubs? Or are they all just you? So okay, now I took a few seconds and just asked that. They spent months on it, I'm sure. So that was that Roy Tucker. His wife passed away in the 20 teens, like 2010, something like that. For the longest time when he was the repeater owner, he just kept passing, sorry, he just kept passing all the heat score stuff to his wife. Like when they were cited, like the repeater would be cited so many times for swearing and other things like that. So he just kind of passed the responsibility off to her and expect that she never gets back to the people about it because she won't. Because chances are, if she's even a ham, he influences that. So he, you know, she's like a puppet. Or she just plain doesn't give a crap. You know, I'm just here to hit the on and off switch, otherwise leave me alone. I'm just here to pay the electricity, otherwise don't bother me about the activity on here. So there was a while when that repeater went from owner to owner to owner to owner with no one really taking direct responsibility for stuff. Like he'd say, he'd complain to one person about this. Oh, they were swearing Saturday night and calling all kinds of sea suckers on the radio. And they just never get back to you. They would mostly ghost you whenever you complain. They would just ghost all your calls. And so between Roy and his old lady, you never really knew who was in charge. Roy was a very down to earth guy. He's a lot of fun. So you know that much, right? Like if you get on the air, he kind of laughs and jokes with you. He doesn't swear himself. He doesn't play hoax. And he doesn't do anything untoward at all. But anytime there's complaints, even if it's just like something simple as like interference on another repeater. All of a sudden those calls are ghosted. So that Roy. Now I'm sure someone in the LA area would say, oh that Roy. But I'm kind of preaching to the missing choir on that one. Okay, so I'll turn it back to you, Russ. Interesting stuff. I deduced enough of it on the five, six years I was there. All right, I should be still here. I definitely don't want to abandon the net, that's for sure. So back to you, Russ. Renegade repeater, the 01 UKC. This is repeater station kilo kilo 7, November Quebec November. All star node 6222. Located in Shelton, Washington.
