Alright Dan, good to hear you. Well, I want to tell you this UV5R Mini that a lot of people are getting right now is so small. And I was finally, finally had a few minutes today to sit down and program a manual program, one channel. Guess which one? PSRG. And I got about halfway through, so I've got it receiving, but I haven't got it yet. I would transmit, so that's the next stage here. But I always want to try to do it manually and see how well it works. But yeah, the receive on it is very, very good. I was just listening to a little bit of your transmission there. It sounded fantastic. Alright Dan, well you take care and good to hear you today. You be out there as late as, I'm just like really getting confused today. Have a good time outside there Dan. That's what I was trying to say. Oh boy. Alright, well let's go find out what you're up to today. 2E0LRV. Hey, good afternoon. 2E0LRV, yes. Hi to Jack and good afternoon to everybody on the PSRG. Yeah, no we're just relaxing after a sort of hectic day yesterday with the family tree topping party. I think I was sat in the shack this morning and I looked out at the trees and where the tops have been chopped off there's obviously some bare bunches sticking out and you know the conifers that we chopped off. They've been taken over by crows. There was a whole family of crows but out between six different trees. You see they're all hopping on the bunches sticking out on the side. So yeah, so it was interesting but as I say after yesterday's five hours on the HF, I thought we'll give the radio a bit of a rest today. So we've just been getting stuff ready for the two minute event of the weekend. I'm not quite sure whether I'm going to be going to the high point about 25 miles away and setting up there or whether I should just run it from home. Ultimately the decision rests on what the weather conditions are like. It is a nice day. It's been a beautiful day today. It was a beautiful day yesterday and the same again today. Warm, sunny, sort of a little bit cool but it is autumn. So yes, we'll make the decision at the end of the week and see what the weather forecast is like. As to whether we go out and go hill chopping so to speak or whether we just stay at home. Both options are good. I can't remember the lines I mentioned yesterday. I moved one of the co-linears, I've got the two co-linears that's bolted so now. It's moved up about six feet and I've pulled out some requests for some signal reports. Two reports, one after the other, both contradictory as to which was the best of the two antennas. I think it depends an awful lot on direction. Somebody did mention the fact, and I probably knew this, I just didn't realise it, that there's obviously three ground radials sticking out of the bottom of the co-linears. Depending on where they're facing depends on a certain amount of directionality from a non-directional antenna. But depending on which way the ground planes point, it depends on how good the antenna is in any particular direction. Something I should have known, I probably did.
