I have some rechargeable music stand lights and a couple of rechargeable battery-powered fans. One of each has developed a bad USB-C connection. They're not the robust USB-C connectors that are in your iPhone. They're just like little solder on the circuit board connectors just for using it as a power connector. They are prone to failure, a word of warning. I put it in the category of planned obsolescence. I opened one of them up and looked and saw just a single lithium polymer cell, like 3.7 volts or something, and was thinking of how I could build a charger. I've got a charger that can charge a single cell, although I don't know where it is. It has a four-position switch for a one, two, three, or four lithium polymer cell. I think it was for radio-controlled devices or something. I got a thrift store. I've used it a lot, but not lately, so I don't know where it is. I thought, you know what, I'll just try using different cords to see if some cords are more prone to not connecting well to these cheap connectors. I was correct. I found one of my new custom USB-C power cords that is so reliable that it overcomes the unreliability of the cheap, unreliable jacks. So I charged up the fan that wouldn't charge, and now I have charged up the light. What an exciting night. KX2CW, Joan on Broadway. Back to you now. All right. Thank you there, Joan. So sorry that you were not able to get in on the last round with the microphone cable difficulties and whatnot, but we got you in now, so I'm glad you were able to stop by. And yeah, I've noticed some things with USB-C cables in particular, and sometimes I've noticed that with a device that requires more power or data, you need the fancier cable, but I've also noticed that with some less expensive devices, you need the less fancy cable or one that's plugged, excuse me, one that plugs into USB-C to USB-A because for whatever reason, it's just getting too much information. And so I have a drawer full of USB-C type cables, some of them more fancy than others, and kind of just go through and figure out which one fits which, which one charges which. So anyway, good luck. It sounds like you've got at least that one figured out. So thanks for stopping by, Joan. You have a great rest of your evening. All right, 10.05 PM. Any more check-ins for the 9 o'clock net?
