On with the planets, we've got Mercury. Mercury is at superior conjunction on the 13th, which means it's behind the Sun relative to us. It's on the opposite side of the Sun. When it is at inferior conjunction, that is between us and the Sun, it's in conjunction between us and the Sun at that time. So it will be transitioning from the morning sky to the evening sky later in the month after the 13th. Mercury is rising about 6.22 a.m. this week. That's just about 15 minutes before the Sun. So we're not going to see Mercury for the rest of the next couple of weeks. After conjunction, Mercury returns to the evening sky setting about 7.13 p.m. by month's end. Mercury is visible about 30 minutes before sunrise just above the eastern horizon. During the first week of the month and about 30 minutes after sunset to the west during the last week of the month. Mercury moves from the constellation of Leo into Virgo, shining at magnitude minus 1.3 on the first.
